Cooking time: 15 minutes

Total time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

1 cup flour

2 eggs

1 cup water

3 tablespoons oil

1 tablespoon of starch

½ teaspoon vanilla

pinch of salt + pinch of sugar

To prepare the syrup :

2 cups of sugar

1 cup water

juice of half a lemon

How to prepare

In a pot on the fire, mix sugar with water and lemon until it boils to get the syrup and leave it until it cools.

In a deep saucepan, put the water, oil, salt and sugar on the fire until the mixture boils.

Mix the flour with the starch and add it to the pot and stir over the fire until we get a soft dough.

We raise the dough from the fire and leave it until it cools.

We add the eggs added to it vanilla, but gradually as we mix the first egg with the dough well and then repeat the process with the second egg.

Put the mixture in a decorating bag, so we get a grooved longitudinal shape.

We repeat squeezing the bag in the pan directly until the amount of dough is gradually finished, over plenty of lukewarm oil at first, until the pieces acquire a golden color.

We take out each group of dates from the pan and cover them with cold syrup and they are ready to be served.

Note: The syrup must be at room temperature.
