For donut dough:
Flour: 3 and a quarter cups
Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
Salt: a quarter of a teaspoon

Sugar: two thirds of a cup
Vanilla: a teaspoon
Orange zest: a teaspoon
Orange juice: two thirds of the cup
Butter: ¼ cup (melted)

Powdered sugar: 2 cups
Orange zest: a teaspoon
Orange juice: 3 tablespoons
How to prepare
Mix flour with baking powder and salt in a bowl.
In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla until creamy and light in color.
Mix orange zest, orange juice, and butter in a bowl.
Add the orange mixture to the flour mixture alternately with the egg and sugar mixture, mixing until a smooth and homogeneous dough is formed.
Cover the dough and leave it to rest for two hours.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into donut slices of medium thickness.
Heat plenty of oil in a deep frying pan and fry the donuts, then place them on a plate on kitchen paper to get rid of the excess oil.
