 Here's an old-fashioned hamburger and mixed vegetable stew just like Grandma did... If Grandma has a slow cooker, and if you can't come home and browse on a weekday, make sure you add extra broth to a large bag of frozen mixed vegetables that can be used instead. of canned vegetables.


°1 (950 ml) beef broth, or more if needed

°°400 gm beef

°1 can whole kernel corn, drained

°1 can (425g) green beans, drained

°1 can (425 g) peas, drained

°1 can of tomatoes (397 grams).

°3 carrots cut into small pieces

°2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into small pieces

°1 chopped onion

°1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

°1 clove minced garlic

°1.5 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley

°1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

°2 bay leaves

°Salt and black pepper to taste


Combine beef broth, sirloin steaks, corn, green beans, peas, tomato sauce, carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, garlic, parsley, celery seeds, and bay leaves.

Simmer 4 hours, controlling moisture and adding broth as needed, continuing to cook 4 hours, season with salt and black pepper.
