Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

Making homemade chocolate chip cookies from scratch is a classic recipe that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. The process is simple and the result is a delicious, warm and gooey cookie that is perfect for any occasion.

Begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking.

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tsp of baking soda, and 1 tsp of salt. Set the dry ingredients aside.

In a separate large mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 3/4 cup of brown sugar. Beat the mixture until it is creamy.

Next, add 2 large eggs and 2 tsp of vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat the ingredients until they are well combined.

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the dough as it can cause the cookies to turn out tough.

Stir in the 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips. The dough should now be thick and slightly sticky.

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Make sure to space the cookies out evenly to allow room for them to spread while baking.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Keep an eye on the cookies as they are baking, as oven temperatures can vary.

Once the cookies are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. This will allow the cookies to firm up slightly before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cookies have cooled, they are ready to be enjoyed! Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
