Homemade Sausage Pie

Bulk Pork Sausage: 1 pound

Minced Garlic: 3 teaspoons

Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese: 2-½ cups, divided

Milk: 1-⅓ cup

Eggs: 3 whole

Biscuit/Baking Mix: ¾ cups

Rubbed Sage: ¾ teaspoons

Pepper: ¼ teaspoons


Preparation Steps:


Cook Sausage and Garlic: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until it's no longer pink. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Drain the excess fat.


Cheese Mixture: Stir in 2 cups of the shredded Monterey Jack cheese into the cooked sausage. Transfer this mixture to a greased 9-inch deep-dish pie plate.


Egg Mixture: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, biscuit mix, sage, and pepper.


Combine and Bake: Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and cheese in the pie plate. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
