Pinto Beans, beef Hocks Cornbread And Pickled Onions

 



ingredients


°2 lb Beef Hocks

°1 pound bento bento

°3 garlic cloves

°1 32 ounces chicken broth (lower sodium)

°1 tablespoon butter

°1 medium onion chopped

°1stalk chopped celery

°1/2 chopped green pepper

°1/2 teaspoon cumin

°1 teaspoon paprika

°1/2 teaspoon black pepper

°1 teaspoon dried parsley and thyme

°1 vegetable broth cube


*directions :


Boil pork beef in stock pot with 8 cups of water boil for 2 hours, after 2 hours clean, wash beans and add to stock pot along with 32 ounces garlic minced chicken broth and all remaining spices above

Simmer for another 2½ hours or until peas are tender and buttery

Note: I've cooked the peas on the stovetop for 4½ hours, the meat will fall apart, but if you're wondering why I didn't start cooking the peas earlier is if you cooked the peas for 4 hours on the stovetop they would become a mush. I added them half way through to keep them firm and buttery.
