Vanilla cream rolls

 



Ingredients:


For the dough:


2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour


¼ cup granulated sugar


1 teaspoon salt


2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast


½ cup milk


¼ cup water


¼ cup unsalted butter, melted


2 large eggs


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


For the filling:


1 ½ cups heavy cream


¼ cup powdered sugar


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


For the glaze:


1 cup powdered sugar


2-3 tablespoons milk


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions:


In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.


In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the milk and water until warm (around 110°F). Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the warm milk mixture and whisk until well combined.


Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.


Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.


While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip the mixture until stiff peaks form. Set aside.


Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12×18-inch rectangle.


Spread the whipped cream filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.


Starting from one of the longer edges, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls.


Place the rolls on a greased or lined baking sheet, cover them with a kitchen towel, and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.


Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.


While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.


Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.


Serve the vanilla cream rolls warm and enjoy!
